Hurricane Katrina Relief: The Industry Keeps On Giving

In addition to the Professional Beauty Association, which is leading an industry-wide campaign to raise $5 million to rebuild the beauty industry in the southeast (it has already raised nearly half a million dollars as of October 25), other businesses are stepping forward to offer their support to the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Below are some of the industry’s efforts:

  • As part of the Paul Mitchell Katrina Fund (in cooperation with NCA and Beauty Associations for Katrina Relief), JPMS is donating a percentage of proceeds from all Round Trip and Quick Slip Express Style products sold between September 12 and December 31. They are also creating a national program called “Voices Who Care” to benefit affected salon professionals.

  • At a fundraiser this fall, stylists at James Madison Salon in Atlanta, Georgia, each donated the cost of one service, which was matched dollar for dollar by the salon.
