The news of a cancer diagnosis can knock a patient off their feet, leaving them to navigate a new scary world of uncertainty and treatments. In 2025 and 2026, ERGO Styling Tools created three signature pink brushes and clips as part of the Astronaut of Hope collection.
Proceeds from the sale of the collection were recently donated to HairToStay in Chicago as part of America's Beauty Show. HairToStay is a non-profit charity focused on subsidizing scalp cooling treatments which help mitigate chemo-induced hair loss. ERGO presented HairToStay Founder Bethany Hornthal with a check for $33,000.

"The Astronaut of Hope collection was designed to support the experience of a cancer diagnosis as being 'launched' into a strange, scary, and isolated environment--much like outer space," says Robert Reed, founder of ERGO Styling Tools. "The Astronaut of Hope represents the bravery required to navigate that unknown territory. It also recognizes the psychological impact of losing one's hair. By supporting scalp cooling, we aim to give patients a sense of privacy, normalcy, and control over their identity during treatment."
